Perinatal exposure to an aromatase inhibitor glyphosate-base herbicide reduced male and female social behavior in juvenile age and the sexual behavior at adult female rat

Objectives: The herbicide glyphosate, a pesticide used in agriculture to control weeds, both food crops and other agricultural areas, has been identified as an endocrine modulator through the inhibition of aromatase activity activation estrogen receptors. present study examined effects glyphosate-based (Roundup® (GLY-BH) on sexual dimorphism rats after perinatal exposure low high GLY-BH males females offspring. Methods: Two groups pregnant were treated with two doses (50 or 150 mg/kg) from day 15 gestation (GD15) postnatal 7 (PND7). Play fighting behavior was observed at juvenile stage during social behaviors adulthood. Results: Perinatal GLY BH reduced male female body weight 28, 75, 90 days age. play decreased sexes, but more affected. only females. Conclusions: promoted sexually dimorphic adulthood stages. These attributed induced by period.
